The Berry Loop takes you from Chinaberry Day Use Area, up the Soapberry Spur, across a shelf 400 feet above the canyon floor, and down a series of switchbacks into Hackberry Camping Loop. It features amazing views of Capitol Peak and Timber Canyon, as well as beautiful rock formations and a pretty good chance of seeing the elusive Aoudad sheep!

Prepare: Dress for the weather, wear good hiking shoes or boots, and bring plenty of water to drink. You may also want a hiking stick, but it is not required. This hike is moderately difficult and about 1.5 miles in length. Friendly, leashed pets are welcome on the hike.

Meet: At the Chinaberry Day Use Area, just after the first water crossing on the right side of the road.

Fees: Regular park entrance fees ($5 per adult, children 12 & under are free). No charge for this program.
