Throughout all of human history, the ability to control fire has meant the difference between life and death. Visit Palo Duro Canyon to learn some of the basics of firecraft, including techniques and the safe management of a fire.

Prepare: Dress for the weather and feel free to bring a comfy camp chair to sit and watch the demonstration. Plan to stick around for the Dutch Oven Program at 3:00pm if you are interested. 

Meet: At the Lone Star Interpretive Theater, located just before the first water crossing on the floor of the canyon. 

Fees: Regular park entrance fees - $5 per adult, kids 12 and under are free.
