Put on your dancing shoes!
During the Great Depression, community dances were a low cost way of having a lot of fun. These dances continued for decades after the Depression came to an end, and many of them happened at buildings constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. This tradition will continue at Palo Duro Canyon with an old time spring dance!
Prepare: Wear clothes and shoes you'd like to dance the night away in. Dancing will take place outdoors, so come prepared. Light refreshments will be served. The Visitor Center and Canyon Gallery will be open for business should you want a souvenir for your dancing partner. Singles and couples are welcome, as are kids!
Meet: At the El Coronado Lodge Visitor Center, 3/4 of a mile inside the park gates.
Fees: There are no fees for the dance itself. Regular entrance fees of $5 per adult (kids 12 & under are free) still apply.
