For thousands of years, people have looked to the night sky to understand our place in the universe. Come out to Palo Duro Canyon to experience the night sky and hear some of the stories that are told in the stars above. The Amarillo Astronomy Club will be on hand with their expertise and their impressive telescopes.
Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring camp chairs and/or blankets to sit on. Flashlights will be needed for getting to and leaving the area. Red lights work best for nighttime use.
Meet: At the Wolfberry Day Use Area, located towards the back of the park on Alternate Park Road 5. A lighted, flashing arrow will be placed at 8:00pm to help direct you to the area where you will park.
Fees: Regular park entrance fees ($5 per adult, children 12 & under are free). No charge for this program.
