It's a Palo Duro tradition - The Hoppin' John Midnight Hike is a great way to ring in the new year in one of the most beautiful places in Texas! We'll start off with a taste of traditional New Year luck food, then we'll count down to the first day of 2019, and we'll end with a 1.5 mile hike on easy terrain. There's no better way to start the New Year off on the right foot... literally!

Prepare: Dress for the weather, wear hiking shoes, bring water to drink, and bring a flashlight for the hike. We will serve small servings of Hoppin' John black eye pea soup, but it won't be a meal. Plan to eat before coming out. 

Meet: At the Mack Dick Group Pavilion, the first building on the left once you reach the floor of the canyon. 

Fees: Entrance fees will be waived for this program. That's right, you get in for FREE!
