WEATHER ADVISORY: Severe weather is forecast for this weekend. This hike may have to be canceled due to icy and snowy conditions.

Palo Duro Canyon has been home to people for thousands of years. Experience some of their legacy first hand on this hike to some of the rock art they left behind.

Prepare: Dress for the weather, wear good hiking boots, and bring water to drink. This hike is about 1.5 miles in length on easy to moderate terrain. Friendly, leashed pets are welcome on the hike. 

Meet: At the Back Country parking area, located at the far south end of park road 5. Watch for signs directing you where to park. The meeting place is 8 miles from the park entrance, so plan to arrive at the park entrance at least 30 minutes prior to the hike start time. 

Fees: Regular park entrance fees - $5 per adult, kids 12 and under are free.
